Derek's passion lies at the intersection of healthcare innovation and investing. His healthcare investment experience includes structured credit, venture capital, growth equity, and life sciences royalty monetization.

Prior to joining K2HV, Derek was a Senior Associate at Longitude Capital, a venture and growth capital investment firm specializing in biotechnology and medical technology. He was a member of the biotechnology venture capital team and helped lead the firm's royalty monetization and structured investment strategy. Prior to Longitude, Derek was on the investment team at HealthCare Royalty Partners, where he evaluated and executed structured credit and royalty monetization transactions.

Derek holds a B.S.B.A in Finance and Healthcare Management from Washington University in St. Louis.
