Ben Bang

Ben has over 20 years of legal experience working at or representing financial institutions.

Most recently, Ben was Legal Director, Finance and Equity Investments at Western Alliance Bank, where he oversaw the bank’s equity and warrant portfolio, off-balance sheet and renewable tax transactions, new product initiatives, and the legal and compliance matters related to such investments. He was the lead legal counsel for the bank’s technology arm, Bridge Bank, and its 300+ employees over 10+ U.S. offices. Previously, Ben served as Associate General Counsel and lead transactional attorney at Hercules Capital, which committed over $1.3 billion to venture capital-backed companies during his tenure. Prior to Hercules, Ben worked as an attorney at several large law firms, such as Cooley, Bingham McCutchen, and King & Spalding, representing startups and financing sources.

Ben holds a J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, as well as a B.A. in Molecular and Cell Biology and a B.S. in Economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
